Yesterday Kath had a great production line running in the Mission Cafe kitchen. We have started making ready meals for the Welcome Centre to send out in their food parcels. It's lovely to be working in partnership for the benefit of all of our customers and to be preventing food going to waste while we remain closed. Sadly we are closed at present, although we are managing to maintain a telephone service to our existing customers and others that are in need of help in these difficult times.
We normally fully embrace volunteers week at the Mission but haven’t been able to celebrate as normal due our current circumstances.
We are so lucky at the Mission to have over 100 amazing volunteers that normally support every aspect of our work. We miss you all very much. We value each and every one of you for the contribution that you make to the Mission and the community that we serve. In these difficult times many members of our community that came forward to support vulnerable people in Huddersfield have had the opportunity to see what we do, whilst offering their services to many who need their help through local Mutual Aid Groups. Hopefully you will all continue to support our us when we get back to a normal way of working. We would like to say a huge thank you for everything that you do for us and our community.
